E nīnau ē, aia i hea ka wai a Kāne?
Just as the seeker looks for the sacred waters that sustain life, Kūlaniākea looks to our community to find the resources: the people, the space, and the tools that will allow our indigenous education to flow forward. We invite you to help us uncover the wai "living waters" that will nourish the next generation of Hawaiian speakers.
ʻAUHEA ʻOUKOU E NĀ KUMU?
Our waitlist is long because the desire for ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi is great, but our "waʻa" (canoe) needs more paddlers. We are seeking fluent immersion Kumu and dedicated staff to join our hālau. Whether you are a seasoned educator or have a unique skill to share, your presence is the breath that moves us toward the horizon.
Hoʻonui I Ka Ikaika: Room To Grow
Our current space is filled with the laughter of keiki, but we have reached our boundaries. We are looking for land, facilities, or innovative partnerships that provide the room our students need to thrive. If you know of a wahi pana "sacred place" or have a lead on a future campus, we are ready to listen and dream with you.
Ka Wai Ola: The Flow of Generosity
Support for Kūlaniākea flows in many directions and we remain open to any form of kōkua you might envision. We are deeply grateful for the transformative gifts that have already shaped our journey: like the generous donation of AC units by Cosco that provided a cool sanctuary for our keiki. As we continue to grow, we are seeking resources that move us forward: including storage solutions for our kula, a reliable vehicle or truck for transporting our gear, and rugged outdoor equipment like tents and field supplies for our lessons on the ʻāina. Whether it is a professional service, a physical resource, or a creative idea we have not yet considered: your unique contribution is a vital drop in the spring that keeps our language alive.
